What do you need before placing a cricket bet?

You need an active Powerplay247 ID and money in your wallet. If you don't have an ID yet, the Get Your ID page explains how to request one on WhatsApp. Deposits go through UPI or bank transfer in the same chat.

Decide your budget for the match before you open it. It is easier to stick to a number you chose while calm than one you pick halfway through the second innings.

  • A verified Powerplay247 ID and password
  • A wallet balance you are comfortable losing
  • A fixed stake for this match, written down
  • Ten minutes to read the market before the first ball

02

How do cricket odds work?

Powerplay247 shows decimal odds. Multiply your stake by the odds and you get the total returned if the bet wins, including your stake. A ₹500 bet at 1.80 returns ₹900, which is ₹400 profit. The same stake at 3.20 returns ₹1,600.

Lower odds mean the market thinks that outcome is more likely. Odds of 1.25 on a strong home side and 4.50 on the visitors tell you who the favourite is before you read a single preview.

03

What is the difference between back and lay?

Backing means betting that something will happen. If you back India at 1.80 and India win, you collect. Laying means betting that something will not happen. You act as the bookmaker and accept another player's back bet.

When you lay, your risk is the liability: stake × (odds − 1). Laying India for ₹500 at 1.80 wins you ₹500 if India lose or draw, and costs you ₹400 if India win. At higher odds the liability grows quickly, which is why beginners usually start with back bets.

04

Which cricket markets should a beginner use?

Match Odds is the simplest market: pick who wins. It stays open through most of the game and settles on the official result. Once you are comfortable, the toss market and session markets add more ways to bet on the same match, and each has its own guide.

  • Match Odds: which team wins
  • Toss winner: settles before a ball is bowled
  • Session runs: runs scored in a set number of overs
  • Top batsman: highest scorer for a team

What is the minimum stake for a cricket bet on Powerplay247?

It depends on the market and your ID. The bet slip shows the minimum when you enter a stake, and support can confirm your current limits on WhatsApp.

Can I cancel a cricket bet after placing it?

A matched bet cannot be cancelled. On the exchange you can cancel the unmatched part of a bet before someone takes it, and some markets offer cash out.

It depends on the market rules. Match Odds bets are usually void if there is no official result, and your stake returns to the wallet. Check the rules on the market before betting.
